Challenge
Our client, a central support body for small and medium-sized learning providers, needed a robust and scalable online learning infrastructure. The goal was to host ongoing virtual courses and tutorial delivery without disrupting operations. The platform had to serve multiple independent training providers while being easy to manage and fast to deploy.
Solution
7clouds delivered a fully optimised, mobile-responsive website and a multitenancy Moodle-based learning platform. We deployed a VMware-powered virtual server farm capable of spinning up a new VLE instance in under five minutes for each organisation.
The solution featured:
2 physical replicated servers hosting 5 ultra-fast virtual machines
Multi-tenant architecture with integrated load balancing
3 web servers, 2 mirrored database servers, and 1 shared file server
Secure access and easy management across all learning providers
Results
Member organisations now have their own independent Moodle VLE instances, enabling them to deliver high-quality remote learning for underrepresented groups such as parents, disabled learners, and those in rural areas.
The new virtual learning environment supports thousands of learners across London, offering a fast, secure, and scalable platform for inclusive education delivery.
