Complete server and network migration, application migration, active directory. Network migration included new switches, routers and cabling.
Challenge
This is an umbrella body for SME learning providers in London. We were tasked with enabling online learning materials. There is a constant flow of learning and tutorials, so we needed to update and achieve this without causing any interruption to workflow.
Solution
New fully optimised website, and multi tenancy learning platform called moodle. VMware based virtual server farm that can create VLE instance in less than 5 minutes for each LLC member. 2 physical replicated servers. These hosted 5 virtual lightening fast virtual servers, all multi-tenancy and load balancing. These included 3 webservers, 2 database mirrored servers, and 1 fileshare.
Results
LLC members were able to have their own instance of Moodle to provide remote learning for hard to reach learners, like disabled, mums and rural learners. Superfast efficient virtual learning platform providing services for thousands of students around London.
